Clean Water, Healthier Homes: RCAM WASH Project Update

RCAM’s WASH programme is on track to commission two boreholes before the end of the current Rotary year, with hand-washing stations installed at each site alongside a short hygiene-education curriculum for community leaders.

The first borehole, located in a peri-urban community on the outskirts of Abuja, was commissioned in August 2026 and now serves approximately 1,800 residents. The second site is currently in the drilling phase.

Sustained impact requires community ownership. As part of the project, each site nominates a small maintenance committee trained in basic pump servicing and finances.
