Environmental restoration is a growing focus for RCAM. On 26 August 2026 our members joined pupils from three secondary schools and two local youth groups to plant more than 500 saplings across four sites in the FCT.
Species were selected in consultation with the FCT Parks and Recreation service for their suitability to the local climate and their carbon-sequestration potential. Each site now has a small maintenance rota to water and monitor the seedlings through the dry season.
We are looking for volunteers to help expand the initiative into a rolling programme. If your school, church, or community group would like to host a planting day, get in touch.
